Strive to be your best

Year 9 Projects

Bridging students look at a range of mark-making and explore a range of 2D and 3D media including clay. They work with 2 broad themes and specific design briefs to produce portfolio work for a BTEC level award.

  1. Mark-making and Organic forms: Students explore and experiment with a range of mark-making media and techniques in both fine art and ceramics before developing it into textual and sculptural work based on organic forms and with reference to the work of artists inspired by organic forms.
  2. Still Life: Students practise basic drawing skills exploring different techniques through the work of a range of artists studied. This culminates in the production of their own still life work, in response to a given design brief.
  3. Cultural studies – Students explore a range of cultural art and ceramics before making their own responses in clay.
