Based in BE10 is Time2Talk. Time2Talk is a service that provides students with a confidential, private, space to talk to a learning mentor about anything that is worrying them. Students can either self refer to Time2Talk or can be referred by a teacher. The learning mentors who runs Time2Talk will then meet with the student, talk about the issue that is worrying them, and offer advice and support so that the student feels confident about dealing with the issue. The learning mentor may see the student for a one off session, or can provide ongoing support until the issue is successfully resolved. If the learning mentor feels that the student requires more professional support, they will be referred to an appropriate service outside of school . Issues can range from friendship problems, homework problems, anxiety about school work; anything that the student is feeling worried about. Time2Talk is available everyday, throughout the school day. During Tuesday and Thursday lunchtimes there are drop in sessions, where any student can drop by to talk to the learning mentors. The aim of Time2Talk is to make each and every student feel happy and confident about coming to school, and enabling them to learn to the very best of their ability, free from worries.
