Who is the course for?
Students who
- are interested in biological sciences and its applications.
- who want to use biology to progress onto further studies in Higher Education or enter a biology-based employment
- are taking other related A levels
What can it lead to?
All university courses which require Biology as a prerequisite. Any university course which requires an A level. A range of careers which may/may not require Higher Education
What are the entry requirements?
6 - 7 GCSE grades 6 - 9
2 grade 6s and above in GCSE sciences

Module 1 : Development of practical skills
Module 2 : Foundations in biology
Module 3 :Exchange and transport
Module 4 : Biodiversity, evolution and disease
For A2
Module 5: Communication, homeostasis and energy
Module 6: Genetics and ecosystems

Lectures, practical work, field work, visits and independent research

What equipment or materials will I need?
General equipment, text books and possibly a laboratory coat.
Course Offer Conditions
Successful students have good grades from their GCSEs and level 6 in their subjects should be a minimum requirement. Students must be prepared to go on a field trip in their A2 year.
