Baby Great White Shark Beat To Death
An Australian man has been fined £9,600 for ramming a baby Great White Shark with his boat, then beating it to death with a pole.
Justin Adam Clark, 40, was prosecuted after witnesses told authorities he had used his boat to herd the shark into shallow waters south of Sydney. Wollongong Local Court heard that Clark then used the boat to ram the shark several times.
A rope was tied to the animal's tail and it was towed back to a boat ramp, where it was beaten to death with a metal pole. A rope was tied to the tail (Pic: NSW Department of Primary Industries)
Glenn Tritton, from the Department of Primary Industries, said the heavy fine was a warning to others. "This conviction sends a strong message that harming of our threatened species will not be tolerated - everyone needs to know the rules and ignorance is no excuse," he said. "Great white sharks are found along the NSW coastline and as apex predators at the top of the food chain, they play an important role in marine ecosystems."
Witnesses said that it was awful to see a baby great white shark to be beaten to death.

Ban Smoking In Cars With Children Present
On the 10th of February 2014 MP’s in England and Wales have asked for a ban off smoking in cars when children are present. More than 700 experts wrote to MP’s telling them to not make the change.
The UK government gave the MP’s a free vote on the matter but prime minister David Cameron missed the voted because he was staying in the south west of London to see the areas that have been affected by the flooding.
The MP’s think smoking in cars when children are present should be banned because it could affect the children’s heath and their life style and could also influence them to smoking.
Luciana Berger said “this is a great victory for children’s heaths which will benefit hundreds of thousands of young people across our country. It is a matter of child protection not adult choice”
We also asked some student on what they thought “I think it’s disgusting and very irresponsible and the parents can’t control the situation when the children become ill”
“I think is terrible because children will be breathing in the smoke and because there is limited area in the car so there will be less fresh oxygen.”
Dinosaurs were the dominant land animals for 160 million years, making them one of the most successful groups of animals ever. The name dinosaur translates as 'terrible or wondrous lizards' and they certainly evolved in a diverse range of sizes and shapes, from the gigantic plant-eating sauropods to the quick meat-eating tyrannosaurs. They also sported an impressive array of body modifications including horns, scales and crests. So far, the remains of over 1,000 different dinosaur species have been identified from fossils though technically, birds are feathered dinosaurs, meaning dinosaurs aren't really extinct at all.
What their world was like?
A vast desert formed in Earth's prehistoric past when the supercontinent of Pangaea straddled the equator and stretched to the poles. Pangaea's position influenced ocean circulation patterns, and its huge size meant that there were vast areas where moist air from the oceans never penetrated. The north east of the continent, coastal areas and the poles had water aplenty, but elsewhere deserts ruled supreme. Many of the bright red rocks of the Late Permian and Triassic are from this desert period. They often contain chunks of gypsum and other salts left by evaporating lakes since, when rain came, it was likely to be as monsoon-type deluges.
What killed them?
Cretaceous-Tertiary mass extinction
The Cretaceous-Tertiary mass extinction - also known as the K/T extinction - is famed for the death of the dinosaurs. However, many other organisms perished at the end of the Cretaceous including the ammonites, many flowering plants and the last of the pterosaurs. Some groups had been in decline for several million years before the final event that destroyed them all. It's suggested that the decline was due to flood basalt eruptions affecting the world's climate, combined with drastic falls in sea level. Then a huge asteroid or comet struck the seabed near the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico and was the straw that broke the camel's back.
Other people’s opinions
What do you think about dinosaurs? ‘Dinosaurs are extraordinary creatures and we’re lucky that they got extinct then they don’t kill us and save are species.’
What do you think their world was like? ‘They got what ever they wanted as they were ruling earth.’
What do you think killed them? ‘I think there was a volcanic eruption which caused them to be extinct.’
Minimum Wage 'Would' Rise To £7 Per Hour
The minimum wage was introduced 15 years ago, with the aim of helping to keep the lowest paid workers out of poverty.
The minimum wage started in 1999 at £3.60 an hour and today it is now £6.31 an hour, campaigners say a living wage is £7.65 an hour.
Now the labour government who introduced the policy as well as the public also say that the current minimum wage is no longer enough. This is because the increase in the minimum wage is not balanced with the rate of inflation. Therefore the minimum wage has not increased in comparison to the increase in living costs which is inflation.
Nearly all people who were interviewed who are on the minimum wage said that this amount is not covering their living costs. These people are also saying that they have no money to spend on taking their children out and are living on the brink of poverty.
Flappy Bird Addiction
Every day people buy phones from eBay and websites like that just for flappy bird and pay up to $90,000 just to play it.
Flappy bird is a mobile game with a bird which you need to go through the pipes without hitting anything. Every time you go through a pipe you get one point and so on. The creator of Flappy bird said ‘i can call ‘Flappy bird’ a success of mine but it also ruins my simple life. So now I hate it’
Flappy bird first came out in the middle of 2013 and it started getting popular and addictive so the creator of Flappy bird had to take the game down. Flappy bird was taken down on the 10th of February 2014.Flappy bird was taken down because of everyone playing it nonstop.
This addictive and evil game is known all around the world as it’s in the apple app store and android’s Google play which almost everyone has.
Now everyone’s making new versions of it but it’s not the same.
Flappy Bird Is Flapping Its Wings No More
Flappy bird is the popular addictive game which was invented by Dong Nguyen. People are going crazy about the game across the world. Flappy Bird was downloaded more than 50 million times.
However, flappy Bird has been removed from online stores but still works on phones that previously had this game. As a result some people are selling their Ipad, Ipods and Iphone for large sums of money as a result of Dong Nguyen removing the game (over £1000).
Mr Dong announced that he took the game down as it was too addictive; they have been playing the game more than an hour at a time. He has also received death threats and a lot of hate.
Although, this game has been deleted, more versions are being made so this game will never really be forgotten.
Flappy Bird Is Removed From App Store
Flappy bird is removed off app store recently. People are going crazy because of this addictive game. People all around the world were selling their IPad, IPods and Iphones with flappy birds in it to make money. Unfortunately the government stopped it. If the government didn't stop this, these devices would've been sold for over £1000.
This game is really famous. it's a fun game but really annoying. Lots of people have gone mad because of this game. People are aiming to beat their high score but turns out they can't. They are playing it everywhere they go and using their time with it. Mostly school kids are playing it. Maybe because of this game, children don't get their homework done on time.
A lot of people have agreed that it was a good idea to be removed off the app store. Here are some opinions from 8 yellow.

Pietersen Dropped For World T20 And West Indies Tour
England star-batsmen Kevin Pietersen has been left out of England’s West Indies tour and World T20 squad just weeks after Andy Flower resigned from his England Head Coach post.
The South African born batsman had 32 international hundreds with 3 double hundreds. He was player of the tournament as England won the world T20 in the West Indies in 2010. His greatest moments included winning 3 Ashes series and making his in the well remembered 2005 Ashes series where is majestic century won England the Ashes after being dropped early in his innings by Shane Warne.
His career had been full of ups and downs; fallouts with coaches, betraying your captain, retiring but them come out of retirement, it’s all there.
His captaincy only lasted a couple of months in 2008 as he fell out with coach Peter Moores and Moores then resigned himself too. This wasn’t much of a setback for KP as he won the Ashes the following year and the year after won the World T20.
The dropping of KP has been called disgusting in some cases and former England captain Alec Stewart said” They always look at KP when they need someone to blame!”
Rumours flew around that Flower had issued an ultimatum where if KP didn’t retire then he would but
Flower has subsequently denied the rumours.
Future replacements for the No.4 slot could be James Taylor, Moeen Ali or Scott Borthwick.
Can England find a new star as good as KP?
Flappy Bird Falls Flat On Its Beak
It's game over for flappy bird, the game that hit the top of the charts and then took a crash landing. It was an app that you can download onto apple and android devices. The object of the game is to manoeuvre the bird, by tapping on the screen, through the green pipes that vary at different heights. The game was actually released last May but only gained major interest in December. On the 9th February 2014 the game was take off the app store by the creator Mr Nguyen Ha Dong because he felt it ruined his life by the apps popularity.
“I think it’s ridiculous that it had been removed from the app store because it ruins the fun for kids” – Ashma Khawas.
Nguyen Ha Dong was a Vietnamese man and he was accused of copying other games but that wasn’t what caused him to take the game down. Even though the creator was making up to £30,000 a day in the ad revenue, he claimed that the bad reaction from the players was too overwhelming. However Mr Dong was proud and happy of the game, he didn’t want the reputation of the game to upset people’s lives!
The game was very difficult which made it addictive and lots of young kids and teenagers, even adults, were staying up past bedtimes and really late just to beat high scores.
Once the massive craze started everyone was so interested in the game and because it only lasted a while before it was game over, more people who didn’t have the app were so eager to get their hands on a device that had flappy bird installed on it.
One user’s opinion of the game: “I like the satisfaction when you beat your high score and I enjoy being part of a network of craze” – Miss Wright
To many people it was a gob-smacking shock when we found out that electronic devices with the app on it were selling for hundreds and sometimes thousands of pounds on biding websites and other websites over the internet. For example an iPhone 5 was sold for £57,300 ($94,000) on eBay. It is definitely safe to say people were going madder than the MAD HATTER!
Nguyen Ha Dong was blamed for copying different games that had already been released such Piou Piou that was released in 2011.
As you can see in the picture above in the game image of Piou Piou the descriptions and annotations of the image can be related to the picture next to it which is an image of flappy bird. There are obvious similarities between these two games.
There are other accusations of Mr Dong copying the pipes that feature in Flappy bird which are comparable to the ones in Super Mario Bros.
All the fame and fortune cannot stop people from being cyberbullied and being affected by it in an adverse way!
While the graphics may be similar there doesn’t seem to be any other evidence showing that the game were purposely ‘copied’. Never the less the app users became irate and expressed this on social media sites such as twitter. Nguyen was trolled and got many unfounded accusations about his lack of creativity. This unfortunately led to his untimely demise.
Some students do not do their homework, because of a game that they love so much and cannot put it aside. This happens every day, in homes everywhere and this could have a great impact on their education, because of not focusing on their homework, which does not help with assessments or tests which need revising for.
Mostly boy students do not do their homework, because of a game that they love so much so some of the work doesn’t get done and the fact that they think that homework is not needed in life it’s rubbish. Homework is needed to help pass your GCSE’s and working towards A-levels. Even boys of the age of 12 and 13 try and get out of homework and instead play games such as call of duty (16+), grand theft auto 5 (18+) (commonly known as GTA 5) and so many more which is in appriate for their age and all this results to being very tired at school because of lack of sleep.
Some students at school fail to do their homework properly, because it is rushed and the students ask people who have done their homework if they can copy it outside form time or outside of the lesson and if they are not lucky the teacher will tell them off for lack of no homework which I think is the right thing to do. And it shows the student that not doing their homework is bad and in the future bring in their homework.
I think It is important to have fun in life. However, things you do for fun can become something that takes over your life, and become an addiction. It can interfere with work or school, things you need to do to make money and survive. Spending all night levelling up on that game might seem fun, but is playing videogames something you can put on a job or college application? If you're at the point where your gaming habits become an addiction, it's important to take a step back and look at what you're doing to yourself.
No Smoking When Children Are Passengers
People shouldn’t be smoking because it can end up dying and especially in cars when children are there. That is because you’re telling them smoking isn’t a bad thing because they will the old people are doing it so it must be a nice thing. When in fact it’s bad for you and your children the smoke that comes out of a cigarette can harm your lungs and you can end up having cancer.
More than 700 doctors says it should be stopped smoking in cars exposes children to particularly "high amounts of tobacco smoke" and there is now a consensus that children should be protected from such unnecessary hazards. "Parents are often surprised that it can lead to illnesses such as ear infections, meningitis and cot death."
Rolling down car windows only served to funnel the smoke right back into the car towards the children in the backseats. In most of cases people don’t think before smoking. Smoking in cars can cause accidents.
It’s better to stay safe if you stop smoking you’re doing help to social work.
Smoking With Children As Passengers Banned
Smoking in cars with children has been banned due to child safety. Research shows that a single cigarette smoked in a moving car with the window half open exposes a child in the centre of the back seat to around two thirds as much as a second hand smoke as in an average smoked filled pub of days gone by.
The British lung foundation has said that second hand smoking contains over 400 chemicals and that it could cause lung cancer, asthma and heart disease. An estimated 46, 00 premature deaths are caused by smoker each year in the United States alone from smokers amongst non-smokers
Campaigners say the developing lungs of children are much more vulnerable to the effects of second-hand smoke - which can be concentrated in cars - increasing their risk of illnesses that range from asthma and colds to lung cancer.
James, 25, from Northolt, quoted that smoking in cars is not only harmful to themselves but to their own children which I think is truly disgraceful.
Stop The Kids From Commiting Suicide
There have been lots of reports lately on how teenagers are decreasing as they are committing suicide because of other kids using unnecessary comments on social sites for ex. Facebook ,Ask.fm, Twitter, texts etc.
This problem is mostly happening with teenagers in between 12-16 all over the world . There have been investigations made and the same age group bully the same age group.
We interviewed a lady that had to go through the pain of her kid dying she said “ I couldn’t stand the pain I thought I was going to kill myself as well, it’s pathetic my young little boy killed himself and it wasn’t his fault. He’s only young and I know he wouldn’t bully any one he wasn’t that type of boy. Even though my baby is gone I still love him and I will never forget about him”
There have been rumours going around that kids bully each other because they are jealous of something. We interviewed a bully that was in court 4 years ago because of negative comments on texts “ I never use to be a bully, im well behaved at school ,I do all my homework’s. The reason I bullied this boy is because had something I didn’t have and that something was courage to go talk to others about everything I was the really quiet one and I didn’t like it so I decided to pick on him as he was the easiest to pick on. After court I decided to change and stop bullying others of what they had and I didn’t and it worked I now have a lot of friends (more than I have had) and if I do something wrong I do everything to fix it”
As well as that we went to Rooks Heath College to see what they think about bullying.
Ashma said “I think it’s ridiculous because they wouldn’t like it if it happened to them.”
Musa said “I think it’s stupid there is no point of it.”
Sonya said “I think it’s sad as more children are dying day after day.”
Nuha said “ I think it’s sad and ridiculous and it should stop.”
