May 2013: GIRLS:
Having won the Borough Tournament, The Under 14 Girls Basketball team reached the final eight in London and represented Harrow in the London Youth Games in March. We travelled to East London and faced some strong competition as some of the teams had England players. We played three games and lost two and won one. That makes us the 6th best team in London.
After winning the Borough Tournament, the Under 15 Girls Volleyball team also went on to represent Harrow in the London Youth Games at the University of East London and competed in the finals against the other Boroughs. The girls played well winning three games and losing two. Unfortunately, this was not enough to take them through to the final four. All the girls thoroughly enjoyed the day and gained valuable experience.
The Under 14 team won the Borough Tournament beating Hatch End High School in a thrilling final.
The Netball teams have had a very successful year. All the training and hard work has resulted in the Year Ten Netball Team coming third in the League. The Year Nine Netball Team coming second in both the League and the Borough Tournament. The Year Eight Netball Team were winners in both the League and the Borough Tournament. Many of these girls will now attend the trials for the London Youth Games.
May 2013: BOYS:
The boys have also had a successful year. All year teams played in League and Borough Tournament Games which resulted in them coming second place only losing out to Harrow High School which is a basketball academy.
The Year 8 and 9 Badminton teams came 2nd to the John Lyon School. Rahul in Year 8 was also named as the best individual in the tournament.
The boys volleyball teams competed in the Borough Tournaments and the Under 16’s secured second place whilst the Under 14’s won their competition.
The boys came second in the Borough Tournaments.
The Year 10 boys have made an excellent start by winning their opening game. They scored a record amount of runs, in beating Salvatorian School and getting through to the semi-final of the Borough Cricket Cup. They scored 232 runs in 20 overs and then bowled out Salvatorian for 75. Congratulations to all who played.
