Strive to be your best

Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)

Rooks Heath School firmly believes that each student should be given the opportunity to achieve their full potential both academically and socially. Each student, regardless of their ability, is entitled to a broad and balanced curriculum that is adapted to their educational needs. Rooks Heath School recognises each student’s uniqueness and in doing so, provides a rich and varied learning experience for all. We aim to provide an environment that offers a curriculum to give students a sense of achievement and thereby helps them to develop their confidence and self-esteem. Special Education Needs is at the heart of Rooks Heath, and we offer each student individual support to help them thrive at school. Rooks Heath School continues to have constant regard for the Special Educational Needs Code of Practice (DfE, 2015) when carrying out our duties towards all students with SEND. We ensure that parents/carers are very much involved in all processes regarding SEND and we ensure that they are fully informed about SEND provision for their child.

Rooks Heath School actively promotes and offers an inclusive education for all students. All staff have appropriate high expectations for all students, and the Learning Support Team ensures that a network of support is available for students to be able to reach their full potential.
