Key Stage 4: Food Technology
This subject has been designed to encourage students who want to be able to design and make products with creativity and originality, using a range of food materials. Candidates will be encouraged to use a wide variety of ingredients and equipment during practical lessons. In Year 10 students will be encouraged to learn by a variety of methods including through mini projects on bread, sweet and savoury pastries, main meals and desserts. They will design and make products suitable for selling in supermarkets, restaurants and specialist food shops as well as learning valuable life skills.
Students are expected to provide their own ingredients and a suitable container for taking their food home.
