Key Stage 3
In Years 7, 8 and 9, students study the four main areas of Maths:
At Key stage 3 students use various textbooks in lessons including 'Key Maths' by Nelson Thornes and 'Essential Maths' by Elmwood Press.
Top set students in Year 9 are given the opportunity to start their GCSE early to allow them to study for the AQA Level 2 Certificate in Further Mathematics alongside their GCSE in Maths.
It is the aim of the maths department to provide homework books for every child to keep at home. In the meantime, they will continue to receive online homework via www.mymaths.co.uk as well as worksheets which can be found in the 'maths resources' section on Fronter.
At Key stage 3 we suggest that students spend at least 30 minutes each week and a little more if they are in the top set.
