At Key Stage 5 we offer BTEC Level 3 Health and Social Care
- Year 1: National Extended Certificate in Health & Social Care = 1 A-Level
- Year 2: National Diploma in Health & Social Care = 2nd A-Level
Who is the course for?
The course will appeal to those students who:
- - Have a keen interest in health and social care services and how they operate.
- - Enjoy studying a subject which in the future may allow them to make a difference in people’s lives.
- - Want to find out more about health care situations through work experience and personal investigation.
What can it lead to?
Students that successfully complete their programme of study could progress onto a related degree or Higher National Diploma. Previous Level 3 students have gone directly into employment within health and social care services, however, the majority go on to university.
What will I study?
The BTEC National Diplomas are broadly equivalent to one/two A Levels. If complete 1 year, you obtain 1 A-Level equivalent, if you complete the 2nd year, you obtain another A-Level equivalent.

You will be assessed in 3 ways:
- Assignments set and marked by Rooks Heath teachers
- Tasks set and marked by Edexcel
- Two external exams, set and marked by Edexcel
