Events Committee

The Events Committee is made up of elected Year 12 and 13 students. It was established to raise awareness for social causes in line with our school’s cultural calendar and to co-ordinate events for the sixth form.

Members of the Events Committee have created resources for social causes such as Black History Month and Comic Relief. They have also been proactive in the arrangement of guest speakers such as Specialist Palliative Care nurses from the NHS, in order to raise awareness of cancer. Members have arranged social events in the sixth form to build unity and relationships, some examples have been a theatre trip to see the Lion King and Ice Skating at Somerset House.

Members attend regular meetings and liaise closely with a member of the sixth form team. Being part of the Events Committee encourages independence, organisation and initiative. Key transferrable values as they navigate the early beginnings of their adult lives.
