Department Assistance Programme

Our Department Assistance Programme is designed to give our students valuable experience in a student facing role. Students are timetabled into lessons of their choice and expertise one lesson per week, working with lower year group students. Not only does this integrate the sixth form with lower school, it provides invaluable experience that can be used on CV’s and UCAS applications.

The programme aims to provide our students with new skills as well as developing their pre-existing knowledge. The core skills gained from effective participation in the programme are; patience, communication, professionalism and organisation.

To prepare our students before attending lessons, they have a training session with our school SENCo who provides them with a workshop on how best to support students when assisting in the classroom.
