Coronavirus (COVID-19) Roadmap

We hope the following information will be useful for you as we go into the Easter holiday:

Coronavirus (COVID-19) roadmap

From today, the rules on social contact, business and activities, and travel are changing as part of the coronavirus guidance on the COVID-19 response – Spring 2021 (Roadmap).

Outdoor gatherings (including in private gardens) of either 6 people (the rule of 6) or 2 households will be allowed, making it easier for friends and families to meet outside.

Outdoor sports facilities such as tennis and basketball courts, and open-air swimming pools, will be allowed to reopen, and people will be able to take part in formally organised outdoor sports. All children will be able to access any outdoor childcare and supervised activities.

The ‘stay at home’ rule will end, but many restrictions will remain in place.

LFD testing and Contact Tracing:

Rooks Heath staff will be available for the first 6 days of the Easter holiday to fulfil any necessary contact tracing required. This means that we will not be available for this purpose beyond Tuesday 6th April.

You only need to inform us of a positive case if either symptoms or a positive home LFD test occurred within 2 days of them being at school (i.e. on Thursday 1st or Friday 2nd April). Where this is the case, please assist us in identifying close contacts and advising self-isolation.

To do this, send an email to coronavirus@rooksheath.harrow.sch.uk including the full name and form of your child and all important information.

Where symptoms or a positive home LFD test occurred more than 2 days since the person was last at their education setting, this does not need to be reported to you and contact tracing by the School is not required. Where this is the case, you should follow contact tracing instructions provided by NHS Test and Trace.

Please ensure that your child continues to use the LFD test kits as stated in my letter. Every student has been given a test kit to take home today.

In the case of a positive LFD test, you should get a confirmatory PCR test which can be booked immediately either online or by calling 119 and should be undertaken within 2 days.

Anyone who has had a positive LFD test result, and their close contacts and other members of their household, should self-isolate immediately in line with NHS Test and Trace guidance and while awaiting the PCR result. If the PCR test is negative, it overrides the LFD test and individual can return to school or college, and their close contacts can end their self-isolation.

Please ensure that your child takes and LFD test the night before the first day of school or on the morning of the 19th April before they return to school. We are happy to report that we have not had to send a single child home as a result of a positive case or displaying Covid-19 symptoms.

Please DO NOT send your child to school if they test positive or display any Covid-19 symptoms.

We wish you an enjoyable Easter break.
