On Thursday 21st November Rooks Heath welcomed eighteen senior teachers from across Japan. The group selected our College from the Department for Education website because they noticed that we had attained an Ofsted Outstanding grade three times in a row. They wanted to observe our teaching and learning and raise questions about how we support our students on their chosen learning pathways.
Our Sixth Form students represented Rooks Heath and took our Japanese guests on a tour of the College. A highlight of the tour was finding that one student was fluent in Japanese, which delighted our guests. Deputy Headteacher Miss Lane, hosted a meeting answering questions from the group on teaching and learning at Rooks Heath. The visit was an enjoyable experience and we are extremely proud that student success at Rooks Heath has been recognised by our colleagues in Japan. Beautiful gifts created by Japanese students were presented to Rooks Heath students and will be on display for all to enjoy.
