On Friday 18th October 2013, A Level Biology students set off on a field trip to Nettlecombe Court in Somerset.

‘It was an early start, at 6.30am we were on our way and four hours later we found ourselves in the heart of the most beautiful views of the countryside. By 1pm we were working away in the fields and were then in the classroom uploading data and learning statistical techniques until 8pm. We were working with students from Bentley Wood and soon camaraderie sprung up between the students from both schools. The next day we trekked across Exmoor and saw some stunning views. The rocky shore study was a lot of fun despite having to negotiate the very slippery seaweed covered rocks. The tutor was excellent and we managed to complete two pieces of coursework while we were there. Did it rain? Yes it did. Did we get dirty? Yes everyday. Did it matter? Not at all. A big thank you to Mrs Ul-Haq and Mr Clarke for taking us away, we had a great time.’
