Opportunity through Learning

KS4 Business Trip to Thorpe Park

74 KS4 Business (GCSE & BTEC students) visited Thorpe Park on Wednesday 9th October 2013.

On Wednesday 9th October, 74 KS4 Business (GCSE & BTEC students) visited Thorpe Park. This vocational trip provided the opportunity for students to develop their understanding of the subject through an interactive and curriculum focused session.  The focus was on Thorpe Park as a business, including branding, finance, growth, aims, objectives, communication, future plans and customer satisfaction. Students had a session specifically targeted to their subject area and key stage.

The students arrived at 10am, spent a few hours on the rides and then attended a KS4 Business workshop at 3.30pm. Students had a fantastic day out and mentioned that the best part was ‘seeing Mr Bliss go on the “Flying Fish” ride! The park was only at 25% occupancy so there was little to no queues and the workshop helped students understand the various issues facing a real life business on a daily basis.
