Goodbye and Good Luck, Year 11!
The final week for Year 11 saw teachers giving a final ‘push’ to their GCSE classes
The final week for Year 11 saw teachers giving a final ‘push’ to their GCSE classes. Students signed each other’s shirts, there were expressions of gratitude and many photographs were taken to provide lasting memories.
Staff acknowledged the efforts and achievements of the Year 11s by awarding certificates and trophies at the Celebration Evening on 1st May. The families of award recipients were invited to see their children receive formal recognition from Heads of Department and Form Tutors.
On Friday 10th May, the last four years at Rooks Heath were wrapped up by the Year 11s and tutors attending a 2 ½ hour long farewell assembly, to which students wore smart clothes of their choice. They truly looked like young adults, ready to move on to the next stage of their lives.
It was an emotional week, combined with much excitement, some sadness and probably also nerves as to what lies ahead for our students. We wish them well in their GCSE exams and look forward to celebrating at the Prom in June and also on Results Day in August.
Director of Learning, Year 11.
