Year 9 Business Studies students have been running mini-companies aiming to create a new drink for Coca-Cola. Throughout the month of September, in order to ensure their products meet their customers' needs, they have been carrying out market research in South Harrow. These trips have involved asking members of their target market what their needs and wants are for these new drinks. The results of this research has enabled them to create some very exciting and unique offerings. The winning Rooks Heath teams were invited to Coca-Cola HQ in Edmonton on November 26th for the annual Year 9 new product development final. Four teams travelled to the Coca-Cola factory in East London to pitch their new drink ideas to a panel of judges. The students had in-depth business plans prepared, covering their financial, marketing and operational objectives. Each team had a uniqueselling point and all had effectively used data from their primary research to develop a drink that suited the needs of their target market. The Coca-Cola judges were hugely impressed by all four teams but well done to Elixir, the winning team, whose innovative drink scooped top prize on the day!
