17 enthusiastic Year 8 German students took part in the Double Club German programme organized by Arsenal FC, The Goethe Institute and UK-German Connections. The students had four 90 minute sessions on Thursdays after school. The first half was dedicated to learning the German language and was led by Ms Pucicka. The students were working with a special Double Club German booklet; playing games, quizzes and enjoying interactive resources related to football and German. In the second half, students were taking part in the football training coached by Mr King.

On Thursday 26th June, we visited the Arsenal stadium. The students had a visit to the museum, tour of the stadium, German language activities and a quiz. Each student was awarded with a t-shirt, football and certificate. It was a great day!

Sead (8 Orange) said, 'I participated in Double Club German this year and thought it was really worth it! The German related activities helped me a lot with my studies and I learnt new words in German. The trip to the stadium was amazing and I loved the tour. My favourite part was when we went to the home changing rooms and we saw the shirts of the Arsenal players. The players seats I sat on were Ӧzil’s and Metersacker’s and I felt really proud.'
