Art Trip - Natural History Museum

GCSE Art and Design trip to the Natural History Museum and the Ceramic gallery at the V&A.

A group of GCSE Art students went to the Natural History Museum and the V&A to look at the decorative architecture of Alfred Waterhouse and the Ceramic gallery of the V&A. This was to inspire their own ceramics and to provide primary research for their sketch books. The next part of their ceramic project is to design fantasy seed pods and decorative lids using carved and applied decoration.

Students really enjoyed their day and were amazed by what you can make with clay and came away with lots of ideas. These ideas will be explored further in the art rooms and will eventually be made in clay and will be exhibited as part of the GCSE Art and Design Exhibition on Thursday the 27th June.
